We always pick our grapes manually. Harvests begin during October, depending on ripeness of grapes of each plot. ‘Cutters’ put grapes in crates not to crush berries and to protect them from oxidation when they are on their way to cellars.
Our vine harvest is thought and made to protect grapes all their way to tanks. Grapes are immediately poured into stemming machine by gravity as soon as they are in wineries. Then, grapes are brought on automatic sorting conveyors to keep only quality fruit. Finally, another manual picking is made.
Thus, the carefully sorted grapes are brought to the top of the tank with the help of a peristaltic pump to avoid any berries’ damage. It is only at that time that grapes are crushed. . |
